This month’s main painting project was another X-Men member – Beast. I had a couple of false starts on this one; getting the right shades of blue required several repaints. However, I’m quite happy where I ended up. If I’m unhappy about one thing, it’s that the darkest shade of his fur has just a hair too much purple tone to it.
This was the first time I actually put any of the street garbage bits onto a base, and I feel like they add a bit of color to what is otherwise a rather monochromatic piece. I’m also a little curious about the decision to swap out Beast’s briefs for a pair of shorts, but that seems to be a trend across a lot of MCP sculpts.
